The above statement was made by one of Nigerians visionary entrepreneur, philanthropist and chairman of UBA, Mr Tony Elumelu. on Thursday the 26th of March as he pledges the nation the sum of 5billion naira all in a bid to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
500million naira to Federal capital territory, 1.5billion naira for medical needs, 1billion naira to Lagos state government and 1 billion naira to the 35 states.
This donation which will be made through the UBA FOUNDATION, will also cater for the needs of the nation and other affected nation during this unusual time.
Another important figure who has also played a role in this emergency intervention is one of Nigerian’s biggest Business magnate, Aliko Dangote who had earlier pledged to give the nation the sum of 200 million naira inorder to support the fight against covid-19 outbreak.
The last but not the least personality is the former vice president of the nation, The pioneer of this response movement. Chief Atiku Abubakar who donated the sum of 50million naira to the nation as he urge the federal government to put in place palliative measures to help Nigerians survive the economic crisis that will outbreak with the coronavirus pandemic.
